Toodyay Ballet School has been operating in the wheatbelt since 1995 and in 2024 will be celebrating 30 years!

    We offer classes in classical ballet (Cecchetti Method), jazz, stretching, commercial jazz, pointe, hip hop, acrobatics and contemporary/lyrical, catering for children as young as 18 months and as old as 70! TBS is a happy place where you can learn to do back bends, cartwheels, backflips, fast jazz dance, beautiful ballet and get to wear gorgeous costumes, tutus and tiaras! Everyone gets to be a star up on stage in the end of year productions that see proud parents crying and laughing at what their amazing children have learnt for the year.

    Although we have an impressive list of competition and exam results, our main focus is to promote the love of dance and bring opportunities to country children.These opportunities include Summer Schools , Days of Dance, classes with famous dancers and industry professional and the chance to travel locally in WA, Interstate and Overseas. Our students have traveled to competitions in Port Macquarie, Melbourne, Sydney and the Gold Coast. We have also traveled to New Zealand to compete in the Alana Haines Australasian Memorial Awards with Kate making it through to the semi finals and winning a weeks vocational study at the Auckland Academy of Dance.  Shaylee Mills competed in 2013 and 2017 will see Isabella Watson travel to this World Wide competition. This will be an unforgettable experience for this 13 year old and her family.

 

    We have enjoyed Summer Schools at the Australian Ballet in Melbourne and Adjkun Ballet Theatre in La Spezia, Italy. Students have won scholarships to Perth,Sydney, America and London.    Students are also given the opportunity to audition for WA Scholars classes, WA Ballet classes and The Australian Ballet School Interstate Program. All classical ballet students have the opportunity to take part in exams every year with feedback from our renowned Cecchetti Examiners travelling from Interstate and sometimes overseas. 

 

     We regularly have students accepted into the Australian Ballet School Interstate program. This elite group of students are chosen from hundreds of students who audition from around Australia and the World. Harrison Woodcock and Clare Bradley (both aged 9yrs) have been accepted for 2017.  We have also had students accepted into full time training at WAAPA, Tanya Pearson's Classical Coaching Academy, VCASS , Principal Academy, APAN and Transit Dance. We are very proud to be able to offer high level training for country students to allow them to take their place along side their city cousins.

    Toodyay is 85km out of Perth, about 50 minutes drive from Midland and 20 minutes from Northam. The country family feel of TBS makes it a happy safe place for children and families. It is a great pleasure to teach and work with such a gorgeous group of students and parents , and we look forward to even more children and parents joining the Toodyay Ballet School Family in 2017.
